ACELL

As an FDA-approved cellular regeneration product, ACell has been effectively used in wound healing and recently has proven to be effective for hair growth when combined with a patient’s own concentrated cells. For effective hair restoration, ACell is combined with platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and injected into the scalp in order to create healthier and larger hair follicles. ACell works by activating cells within the scalp, and the PRP utilizes growth factors to promote localized cell growth.

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP)

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) works by taking a patient’s own blood to separate out growth factors. Once the growth factors in your blood are isolated, they can be injected into the scalp in a series of injections. This helps to effectively “wake up” your hair follicles and allow them to grow again. PRP treatments are relatively quick and are completed within our office.

Theradome

The innovative Theradome helmet works by using laser light energy to target cells within the hair follicles. This state-of-the-art laser helmet helps create the formation of a new photonic pathway in order to grow new healthy hair follicles. Utilizing red laser light allows for better absorption of energy by human tissue at varying depths. This treatment is as easy as wearing the helmet around your house for 20 minutes at a time.

Nonsurgical Hair Restoration FAQs

How effective is PRP therapy at treating hair loss?

  • The outcomes of your PRP therapy will depend on the severity of your hair loss, how many treatments you get, and other factors. You should also remember to be patient with your results, as it takes time for new hair growth to become visible after the PRP stimulates the process. During your consultation, Dr. Shah will discuss if you are a good candidate and what results you can realistically expect. You may need to continue to get PRP therapy to maintain your results and limit future hair loss.

Why is ACell combined with PRP so much more effective than PRP alone?

When the wound-healing properties of ACell are combined with PRP, it unlocks an improved regeneration mechanism in tissues, which can result in new hair growth. Additionally, it can rejuvenate previously dormant follicles, leading to greater hair density.

How does a Theradome treatment work?

Unlike PRP-based therapies, Theradome sessions are conducted from the comfort of your own home. After confirming with Dr. Shah that you are a good candidate for this device, you will wear the Theradome helmet twice a week for 20 minutes. Results typically begin to become apparent after 4 – 6 weeks, with optimal outcomes usually visible after a year.
